The number of options for people interested on jumping in GPU renders is getting bigger everyday. I just saw that the company behind MachStudio Pro, which were a commercial solution to create GPU based renders, just changed their business model to focus on consulting and training, and decided to give MachStudio Pro for free. Before that the software were priced at 4,000 dolars!
By the demonstration videos I found about MachStudio Pro I can say that the software is quite impressive, but I believe that with a good video card, we can get good results with a lot of GPU based renders.
In the video below, we can see how fast MachStudio Pro render a scene created in Maya.
There are a few downsides if you choose to download MachStudio Pro for free, and the first one is that this tool is only available for Windows users. And the second one is that we don`t have support to import Blender files yet. But, in the description page of MachStudio Pro, they promise to support the Blender file format in the future.
I will give it a try while Blender Cycles doesn`t get a stable release. How about you?
The quality of the renderings don’t convince me.
They all look so technical, sterile and cold.

I am not verry happy because GPU studio is only for DirectX 11 videocards :(( and mine is DirectX 10 🙁 … and I cant test the software
