Blender 4.2: Precise Modeling Workshop
Learning Resources →

As you probably know, if you are keeping up with the news related to Blender, we have some exciting developments to rendering. Is it Eevee? No, all the focus now is on Cycles and the next evolution of the renderer. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of Cycles, the Blender Foundation started to work in Cycles X as the next step in our renderer. Do you know that you can already download the first builds of Blender with Cycles X?

How to download it to try yourself? Simple, you can visit the Blender Builder page and in the Experimental Branches look for Cycles X in the list.

Do you have to change anything to use Cycles X? Absolutely not, all changes are in the source code, and the user interface remains the same.

The initial tests from artists trying Cycles X show some impressive gains in render speed! Look at this project called Creamy madness with a render using Cycles X. What was the render time? With Cycles X, it was 10 minutes, and current Cycles needed 25 minutes to process the same scene.
