In some projects related to architecture, we have furniture models that could efficiently work in multiple scenes if you have parametric controls. A typical case for this is kitchen cabinets, where you have a basic design that replicates in different shapes and lengths. Wouldnt be great to have a way to transform a modular design quickly?
That is the proposal from a new Add-on under development from Andrew Peel. We already mentioned the Home Builder Library in the past, and the Add-on is close to the first public release. As a way to demonstrate the capabilities of Home Builder, we just got another impressive demo:
As you can see from the video, it will handle modular pieces of furniture and give you a way to change and reorganize them in multiple ways.
According to the developer, you will be able to download Home Builder Library at no cost. You can download other Add-ons from Andrew Peel from this link.
Using Blender for architecture
Do you want to use Blender for architecture or render your projects using Cycles or Eevee? We have three books available that could help you!
They cover the use of Blender for producing architectural content and also all information you need to render projects in real-time:
- Blender 2.9 for architecture: Modeling and rendering with Eevee and Cycles
- Blender 2.8 parametric modeling: Drivers, Custom Properties, and Shape Keys for 3D modeling
- Blender 3.0: The beginner's guide
- Blender 2.8 for technical drawing
- Blender Eevee: The guide to real-time rendering with Blender 2.8
You can get them in both digital and paperback formats. By ordering those books, you will not only improve your skills with Blender for architecture but also support Blender 3D Architect.
