Blender 4.2: Precise Modeling Workshop
Learning Resources →

The tools available in Blender are already awesome to create architectural visualization, but for certain tasks, you might need additional help. With the use of Add-ons, you can extend Blender’s functionalities and do things that would take a long time with default tools. One of the most useful Add-ons for architecture received an update a couple of weeks ago.

Do you now the Scatter Add-on? That is a must-have tool for exterior rendering in architecture because it can help with the creation of grass, vegetation, and object distribution.

You can now get Scatter version 3 with an improved user interface and some clever new options like:

  • Lodify: It creates meshes with high-density near your camera and lowers the quality of copies far away.
  • One-click Ecosystem: Use presets to make grass and fill surfaces with vegetation.
  • Masks: Plenty of options based on masks to distribute copies like slope marks to reorient copies made with Scatter.

Among the new features of Scatter, you find one that anyone can use, even if you don’t own Scatter. A new reference website with dozens of examples and documentation.
