For product visualization I always use a studio setup to light my objects, and create a great abstract background to highlight only the product. I was browsing the YafaRay user forums this week and found a great overview of a studio setup for product rendering. An artist called STart posted some images of suitcase placed exactly on a studio like environment. And for those of you that want to learn how to setup a scene like the one he used, at the thread he posted the settings used for the environment and leather material of the suitcase.
