Blender 4.2: Precise Modeling Workshop
Learning Resources →

One of the oldest projects that we have here at Blender 3D Architect, which for several reasons we were unable to finish is basic training for artists starting to use Blender. With the focus on architectural visualization. In recent months a significant amount of artists became interested in Blender.

Much of that interest is a direct result of Cycles and the upcoming Eevee. Having such quality options to render your projects, using open source and free software is a great way to start and keep a sustainable business. Especially in architectural visualization, where you have to make substantial investments in hardware to be competitive.

Are you among those artists looking to start using Blender?

We have some great news! Ever since last Friday our Blender Basics for architecture online training is available. And that training is free! You just have to create an account at Blender 3D Architect and start learning.

It is a fundamental introduction to Blender and their main concepts like:

  • User interface
  • 3D Navigation
  • Object creation
  • Basic modeling
  • Wall modeling
  • Getting started with Cycles

One of the features of that content, which comes from multiple requests from our readers and students is the voice over. All lessons have voice over video.

That is the way all future training from Blender 3D Architect will adopt. No matter if it is an update to existing content or new material.

Since we are using a new technique to add the voice over, we would love to have some feedback on the content. By the end of the course, you will find a quick survey. It just takes one minute to help us improve the content!

So far, we are having mixed reviews of the voice over. Some people like and others prefer a different style. Did you watch the lessons already? Here is a link to the survey, leave your feedback.

In the future, we will add more lessons and content to the basic training, and also get new material by the time Blender 2.80 reaches at least the beta stage.
