Blender 4.2: Precise Modeling Workshop
Learning Resources →

Whenever you have the opportunity to start working on a furniture model for a project in Blender, at some point, you will need to gather a few materials and textures for that model. A common type of material used for furniture models is fabrics, and the guys from AmbientCG added a couple more to their library.

What is AmbientCG? That is one of the best online libraries to download materials and textures for all projects. All their resources are available in the public domain, meaning we can use the materials for any purpose.

Once you find a material you want to download, pick a resolution and file format. There are options to download either JPEG or PNG files for those materials.

You should take special care when choosing the proper type of fabric for a furniture design because this plays a significant role in the visual and aesthetics of the furniture. Most designers spend a considerable time trying and testing different types of fabrics for their furniture, and with Blender, we can easily swap between materials.
